The 2014 scholarship program year ended on November 2, with a final lecture by long-serving Escuela de la Montaña teacher, Tito, and a sumptuous chicken pepian lunch served to all the students. 78 scholarships were given out this year.

One of the requirements for our scholarship students is to demonstrate leadership by their participation in a community project. Students in Nueva Esperanza focused on water and presented information on best practices in protecting and preparing clean drinking water as well as treatment of waste water. The students led community meetings and distributed information.
