We welcome couples of all varieties – lesbian, gay and straight. You can be assigned the same room if you let us know when you register that you want to room together. Typically, you will eat your meals with separate families in order to better share the work among the host women, and to help you practice your Spanish.
Families are welcome at the Escuela de la Montaña. Nuevo San José and Fatima provide around 120 children to play with and who will happily teach the local intricacies of using slingshots (catapults), making kites out of tortilla chip bags, cooking tamales made of leaves, stones and dirt, and playing games in the coffee fields. In the Otto René Castillo Community Library we have many children’s books in Spanish and in our school library we have children’s books in English.
The School is popular with college travel abroad groups, youth groups, and organizations doing educational travel.
Depending on your group’s interests, we can arrange extra activities, volunteer work and speakers or trips that meet the specific interests and educational requirements of the students. Let us know in advance and we’ll work with you to make your stay successful.
